A few highlights to whet your appetite:
· The Admiral Codrington – posh pub with good food and a beautiful dining room, around the corner.
· Bibendum – restaurant in Michelin building with spectacular stained glass windows, at the end of the street.
· Peter Jones – top department store for Sloane Rangers and other locals, five minutes’ walk up King’s Rd.
· Harrods – THE department store, 15-minute walk through some of London’s smartest streets.
· Chelsea Physic Garden – one of London’s most interesting gardens, 15 minutes’ walk away on the River Thames.
· Chelsea Sports Centre – modern pool & gym in historic building a few minutes down King’s Rd (pay per visit).
But there is a lot more. Chelsea, one of London’s smartest neighbourhoods, is all around you. The famous King’s Road, brimming with upmarket restaurants, bars and designer shops, is three minutes’ walk away and local pubs and shops are even closer.
Sloane Square, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and South Kensington are all just a 10-15 minute walk. Nearby underground stations are a only a few stops away from the exhibition centres of Earls Court and Olympia, not to mention the wonderful stores, theatres, nightclubs and historic buildings of the West End and Westminster, the seat of government. The City of London (financial district) lies just beyond, still within 20 minutes by tube or taxi.
